MAMBO's monitoring solutions at Bagnas Nature Reserve
MAMBO recently hosted a field excursion at the Bagnas Nature Reserve, bringing together project partners and representatives of the B-Cubed project.
The excursion began with an outdoor presentation of the Bagnas Nature Reserve, its management framework, and the constraints and pressures it faces. This provided an opportunity to discuss the management challenges related to the impact of climate change on the reserve's biodiversity and the chosen conservation strategy.

The visit continued with an indoor presentation of the results obtained using the various MAMBO solutions tested at Bagnas. This highlighted the contributions of the tested solutions, including characterising the conservation status of the environment using LiDAR data and detecting a new animal species in the reserve using bioacoustics.

The day continued with a presentation of the sensors outdoors, particularly to members of the B-Cubed project, followed by an exploration of the reserve extending to the coastline. During this exploration, participants were able to visualise the concrete impacts of invasive plant species on the environment, as well as the impact of climate change, with the increased salinity of a pond leading to a change in the animal biodiversity it supports.
