MAMBO's coordinator, Toke Høye from Aarhus University, and colleagues recently convened an essential workshop on behalf of Biodiversa+, addressing challenges in adopting new technologies for biodiversity monitoring. The key outcome: a call for increased networking, aligning seamlessly with MAMBO's goals.
Biodiversa+ aims to create a transnational network of national biodiversity monitoring schemes in Europe, working closely with EuropaBON, EEA, GBIF, and JRC. Together, they're shaping a strategic framework for a unified vision in biodiversity monitoring.
MAMBO focuses on developing AI solutions for EU biodiversity monitoring, delivering high-res habitat maps, and promoting standardised habitat data retrieval. We are working towards co-designing tools with various stakeholders and building a global community for cutting-edge tech applications.
In essence, both Biodiversa+ and MAMBO are driving innovations in biodiversity monitoring, with Biodiversa+ emphasizing collaborative networks and MAMBO pushing the boundaries of AI and habitat mapping. Stay tuned for more updates to come.
