MAMBO held а virtual consortium meeting on 16 March 2023. Exactly six months after its kick-off meeting in Aarhus, Denmark, MAMBO partners gathered in an online environment for a half-day meeting to discuss new developments within the project and assess its trajectory of progress.
The day began with an introduction and an overview of current tasks given by project coordinator Toke Høye from Aarhus University (AU), before words of welcome to all newcomers to the project, namely MAMBO’s early career researchers from across the project’s partnering institutions. They presented their background, research interests, expertise, and in what way they are contributing to MAMBO’s tasks. Some ECRs had joined the project only recently, so this was a great way for the rest of the consortium to meet them, albeit in a virtual environment.
The day continued with a presentation from work package 1, which detailed its work on collecting an inventory of existing monitoring tools as well as their ongoing stakeholder mapping systematisation and subsequent plans for engagement. This was followed by an interactive exercise using a Miro board, in which partners identified relevant stakeholders for their respective tasks.
The meeting went on to present all work packages in order, who all shared their current state of their tasks, what resources they are using, and what difficulties they may experience in the process of moving the project’s work forward. Work package 5, which focuses on MAMBO’s demonstration sites featured an interactive discussion and completion of key information about MAMBO’s sites, with the aim of ascertaining what type of tools can be placed in each geographical location depending on the local conditions.
After an interactive break with a quiz about the project partners, in which everyone had to guess which out of two statements is true about a person, the meeting proceeded with an overview of more administrative matters on project management and a session on dissemination and outreach measures.
At the end of MAMBO’s virtual consortium meeting, the partners had the chance to meet the external ethics advisor - Jes Haarfeld from Aalborg University (AAU) in Denmark, who presented his background as well as his role in the project as an overseer of all ethics-related matters in MAMBO.
The meeting was a great success for the project and provided the opportunity for all partners to meet and discuss the future of the project!
